The Woburn-Stoneham Lodge of Elks on 295 Washington Street has been a cornerstone of this community long before event venues became a commodity. Walk through the doors and you'll find something reviewers keep mentioning: it's bright, genuinely clean, and the bartenders actually want to be there. That combination is rarer than it sounds.

The lodge runs two distinct spaces. Legacy Hall upstairs handles the big celebrations, receptions, fundraisers, and milestone parties where you need real room to breathe. Downstairs, a more intimate room fits up to 40 guests comfortably, with a rental rate of $250 and a separate damage deposit, making it one of the more affordable private event spaces in the greater Woburn area.

Beyond the event halls, this is an active BPOE lodge rooted in the four cardinal principles of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks: charity, justice, brotherly love, and fidelity. Members and guests alike come through these doors for charity events, community programs, and the kind of camaraderie that doesn't require a cover charge.

What We Offer

Legacy Hall upstairs is the anchor venue, spacious enough for wedding receptions, retirement parties, fundraising galas, and large organizational gatherings. Mark and the events team are hands-on through the entire planning process, which is exactly the kind of support that keeps families and organizations coming back year after year.

The downstairs event room is the smart choice for smaller occasions: birthday dinners, bridal showers, business meetings, or any private gathering where 40 seats is the right number. The bar is staffed, the space is self-contained, and the pricing is straightforward with no hidden surprises.

For Elks members, the lodge offers ongoing fraternal programming, community service initiatives, and social events that connect members across Woburn, Stoneham, and the surrounding communities. Membership in the BPOE brings access to a national network of lodges and a local home base that has earned a 4.6-star rating across more than 100 reviews.

"We have had many parties here and they have always been great to work with. We always use the upstairs hall - Legacy Hall. There is plenty of room in the hall and Mark is very helpful during the process of booking the hall. We never have any complaints and there is plenty of parking in a large parking lot out back. Our guests always enjoy it there and there is always plenty of room in the hall for our vendors. We absolutely recommend having an event at this venue and will continue to have our events here."

"This downstairs room in the hall is good for a smaller event (up to 40 people). The rental fee was $250 with a separate $100 damage deposit (if needed). The bartender was very nice and the bar manager Renee was great. There are limitations on decorations and you cannot bring your own beverages, even non-alcoholic ones, into the hall."

"This place is nicely renovated; it looks way better in the inside than it does on the outside and the price was decent. They have lots of parking available in the back. They absolutely need to change their point of contact. I was working with someone named Mark and he was horrible with communication. He gives limited information and when you communicate questions to him, he chooses which ones to answer and at times, he just won't respond. During the event, the bartender had an attitude like if she didn't want to be there. The place looks great and there's lots of space for events but the lack of professionalism is off-putting. I personally wouldn't do business here again."
